Hayate x Hinagiku --> Hayate x Athena. They have the past relationship going for them. Though I admit I haven't really read enough of the manga to know much about Athena yet. I do like what I know about her better than the other girls so far though. Without her I would ship Hina for sure, as Nagi is much too young and Maria is much too smart and aloof of a character for him. Plus, everyone else has a better partner.

Also, it's Hermione x that one butler that has a gay love for Hayate. I feel kind of...bad for him. >.

"Layfon x Leerin." No! Layfon/Felli ftw~ Unfortunately, I think he already tripped the Nina flag. Nina's the last person I'd want to see him with, even Leerin would be better, but Felli is #1 for sure :3

"Lelouch x Shirley" And so they are re-united in death. Man that really pissed me off. It's hard for me to argue against Lelouch/C.C. though, too many good bishoujos in Geass.

"Hayate x Hinagiku" Hayate/Maria all the way. I don't really see it happening either but that doesn't mean I can't dream. And I'll happily go down with the ship~

"Sugisaki x the Prez" Ken would be appalled to hear you say that! HAREM END HOOOOO~ Seriously, if ever there were a series that should have a harem end, it's Seitokai. It is just way too hard to pick just one.

"Tomoya x Nagisa." I liked Kyou a lot better, but I can't honestly make an argument against Nagisa. Another one that would've been nice to have a harem end.

"Emiya x King Arthur." Rin ftw. But then I'm completely and terribly biased.

And I'm realizing more than half of those names mean absolutely nothing to me. Must watch more animus~

I don't know anything about Athena other than the technicals of what happened in the past. I doubt she's knocking off Hina, who is an all-time favorite of mine. Though I wouldn't be too upset with Hamster taking the crown. Her passion, dedication, and cute normality -- compared to the rest of the cast -- win a place in my heart (wow that sounds lame).

Hermione and that overzealous butler work great comedy-wise. But the way Maria just lights up when she sees Hayate in drag... can't deny that!

If Hayate passes her up, then Hina x Miki aint too bad. Maybe we can even use the Utena parody again here. That reminds me, I need to finish that series...

I wonder what Rie's like in real life? What would you do if she were the complete opposite of the tsunderes she plays?

Personally, I definitely like Felli more. However, I think Leerin works better for Layton. They seem to have something going, and he seems more into her. I have to take his feelings and history with her into the equation here. I think they make the better couple.

Good point on Lelouch x Shirley... maybe. Until Spice and Geass is announced!

Maria aint too shabby. Though I would probably rank her fourth, behind "let me call you onii-chan" Sakuya.

Harem end is too easy a call for Sugisaki. If I had to make the tough decision, I think he works best with Aka-chan. Mafuyu seems to be on a whole 'nother wavelength. Chizuru... just run. Minatsu would work too. That might be the more romantic option.

Honestly, Nagisa cheats a bit with all that ~After Story content. It's really not fair. Just considering season 1, however, I think she still leads. Tomoya has family issues, and Nagisa's outlook and environment work better for him. She can help heal him, which is pretty much what starts to actually happen after they get together.

Nothing wrong with Rin. At the start of FSN, I would have put them together too. However, Saber wins out with her dedication. She stands by and protects her man, which is pretty damn sweet for a change of pace.

I actually cut this list down, taking out the more obvious and established couples, such as Soichiro x Yukino from Kare Kano.

(un)fortunately, either my OTPs are same as yours, or I haven't watched the other series mentioned, so I can't exactly break the aforementioned couples as you wish :'(

Oh god... the let me call you onii-chan Sakuya... that was a really HNNNNGH moment for sure. Still, Maria wins out for me.

And regarding the title, honestly, I bet men can ship more fiercely than women at times, especially in the anime subculture. Guys will go absolutely nuts for their 'waifus.' :p

Amu x Ikuto is the only way Shugo Chara can go. Anything else is bullshit! So I guess I feel kind of strongly about that one. Just writing out Sousuke x Chidori makes me sad that it's been so long and we haven't even heard a peep about season 4.

If I'm not lazy and get around to a Naruto post, I'll go over Naruto x Hinata and Shikamaru x Temari in more detail. I've got plenty to say about them.

Sakuya came out of nowhere with that too! I always thought pretty well of her, but that moment catapulted her status. I don't even have a thing for that. It's just the way she said it and acted / looked in the moment.

I'm not trying to do a "what girl would I personally choose" sort of thing here. This is more couples grouping than Michael's favorite anime chics. So it is a bit different from those sort of lists.

I agree with basically ALL these, but in spite of that, it wouldn't stop me from killing about half of the Bleach cast, including Rukia (ESPECIALLY HER) & INOUE...LIKE WTF INOUE???? Healing the ENEMY??? Sorry for the caps, but I just don't see how they could write that in the script for her in the anime....stupid.

I expect Rie to be different in real life...in fact I bet she's probably really nice. Of course, she could be a bitch, a nice person, even a man (well not a man), and I'd still be fine with it.

If you ask me, she's pretty cute, but I have this thing for Asians, sooo.

Inoue is the worst character with some of the best scenes. Normally I'm sick of her, but every so often they do a really good scene with her. That's quite rare and overall not enough to swing the tide, but it's really weird in that way.

Anyway, I have to object at Hayate x Hinagiku, partly because of my dislike towards Hina. Nagi's that typical tsun-.... .. character you just want to cuddle and nudge on the person she likes, at least in my case. So Nagi > Hinagiku

I request more shippers.

I want Juiz on my iPhone! Though if Sprint or someone I'm not using signed an exclusive deal with Juiz, I would switch over from AT&T in a heartbeat.

Nagi -- for me -- comes off too childish and naive. Also, Hina works the tsundere angle too, although she does it in a different fashion. I like how her 'tsun' comes out and spoils her more 'dere' motives, leading her to fret over it later.

Cutest = Amu x Ikuto, Akari x Akatsuki (End of Aria the Origination = Akatsuki "confessing" to Akari = win), Kyou x Tohru & Yuki x Machi (manga), Miyazawa x Arima (why did the anime end so suddenly?! Why oh why?!), Suzaku x Euphemia

Most Awesome ("awesomest"?): Lawrence x Horo (NOT "Holo." Ew.), Miyazawa x Arima, Alto x Sheryl, Haruhi x Kyon.

Most Badass: Rock x Revi, Robin x Amon

Most f***ed-up-but-still-awesome: Anemone x Dominic, Satou x Misaki, Kenshin x Tomoe (Kenshin x Kaoru is cute though).

I disagree with you on the Code Geass pairings. Lelouch x C.C.? C.C. deserves to be alone. Suzaku x Kallen? Not a chance. Lloyd x Rakshata? Lloyd and his assistant is a total win, much more over Rakshata. Schneizel x Kanon? Something about that creeps me out...Orange-kun x anybody?! Orange-kun was made for Villetta. (Well, not really, but that's the closest I can think of for both of them.) I do agree with you on Lelouch x Shirley.

My pairings for Code Geass: Lelouch x Shirley, Suzaku x Euphemia (cutest to the max), Lloyd x assistant (Cecile? idk). Others aren't noteworthy.

Aside from code geass, awesome pairings!

I tried to keep out the 100% canon who-could-possibly-disagree couples. Otherwise, this post would have gone on way too long. But yes, I do of course second Miyazawa x Arima, Lawrence x Horo, etc.

I totally forgot to list Alto x Sheryl though. Good call.

Jeremiah x Villetta... not bad. Certainly better than that doofus Ougi getting her. Suzaku x Kallen and Lloyd x Rakshata are both fueled on rivalry. Schneizel x Kanon was a joke, as a certain fansubber has a massive obsession with that one. As for C.C., what you got against the girl? Her and fallen Lelouch are perfect together.

Good point, there wouldn't be any reason to list them if one couldn't argue against it (Though one could argue Lawrence x Chloe...actually, nevermind, that's just stupid.)

I literally choked to death with laughter when Ougi and Villetta were together. And as for the schneizel x kanon and that fansubber dude/chick, that's just--wait, nevermind, typical fanboy/girl-ish behavior.

Couples based on rivalries are sweet 'n' good 'n' all, and most of them are nice. But Suzaku and Kallen don't strike me as the sort of "couple" kinda type, since they didn't really interact too much (not until R2, I don't even remember that too well), and Lloyd and Rakshata are just like total physical opposites (young, skinny, whiny-ish and nerdy, versus well-endowed, mature, and...well, yeah). To each his own, I guess.

I guess I was a little too harsh on C.C....but that still doesn't change my opinion on the Lelouch x C.C. Lelouch and Shirley look too good together, I guess (even though Shirley WAS annoying in the first season).

By the way, what is your LEAST favorite couple?

I guess it's kinda hard for me to separate the "who would I choose" and the "who I want the character to be paired with," as I'm sure it is for a lot of fans :p

And now that I've burned through a good 80 some odd episodes of Shugo Chara I can say I'm very firmly in the Amu/Ikuto ship. Needs more Amuto moments *rewatches eps 74 and 77* but only the Amuto parts >_>

Oh, it's not that people can't argue against major "one true pairings." It's just listing them would inflate this post and would overall be a little less interesting. I'd rather put more provocative ones here, but even still I didn't come up with all that many.

And Rakshata is waaaaay more physically similar to Lloyd than Cecile.

My least favorite couple? There really isn't a "decided" couple I flat out hate. Most boring would have to go to Setsuna x Marina. Ooooh, Saji x Louise was quite bad at times. So was Sumeragi x Billy, and Allelujah x Soma. Actually, with the exception of Kati x Patrick, most of the couples in 00 sucked. It annoyed me that the series never explored the trainwreck possibility of Setsuna x Nena. That could have been delicious.

You're ahead of me now in Shugo Chara. I caught up to airing right after season 1 finished, and it's been on hold since. One of these days I'll have to pick that back up and complete Amu's wardrobe gallery.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I've been absent here as questions about how to move forward linger. I'm still not over that "why continue blogging" phase. Should I continue on randomly posting blips like I have been? Could I actually focus on a more developed analysis format and really work that up? Or should I let blogging go and focus in on my other projects for the time being?

Until I figure out what I plan to do, posting looks doubtful for the immediate future... or I could randomly post again tomorrow. Who knows? I sure as hell don't anymore!
